What is a webhook?

The opposite of checking. Instead of a system asking every few minutes whether a new order has arrived, the other system sends a message the instant one does. This is what makes a workflow feel immediate rather than delayed, and it is why a missed-call text can go out in seconds rather than on the next five minute sweep. Most modern software can send them; older software often cannot, which is one of the first things worth checking.
