FAQ

How is this different from Power BI or a reporting tool?
BI tools visualize data that already sits in a warehouse, and they stop at charts. An operational dashboard is a working surface: it pulls from the live systems you actually run on, and it acts, pushing listing updates out, syncing records, flagging what needs attention. Reporting is a by-product, not the point.
What did the Quintessence Auto dashboard actually do?
Two systems in one build. The backend dashboard automates their vehicle listings, inventory and detail updates flow through one place instead of being maintained by hand. The auction dashboard scrapes auction sites, parses each vehicle's details with AI, and gives sales reps clean, searchable data. The full build, including their website, shipped in 3–4 weeks.
Our data is scattered across tools that don't talk. Can you still build this?
That scatter is usually the reason to build. We connect through APIs where they exist, imports and syncs where they don't, and AI scraping and parsing for sources with no integration at all, supplier sites, marketplaces, PDFs, emails. Messy sources are normal; the dashboard's job is to hide that mess.
Can the dashboard take actions, or only display data?
It takes actions, that is most of the value. Update a vehicle's details once and the listings update everywhere they live. Change a status and the follow-up triggers. We scope which actions are automated, which need one click of human approval, and which stay fully manual.
What does a custom dashboard cost?
Pricing is scoped per project, because a single automation and a full platform build aren't the same thing. You get a fixed number after a discovery call, before anything is built. No hourly billing, no scope surprises mid-build.
How long does a dashboard build take?
Most ship in 3–4 weeks, the Quintessence Auto build, which included a website and two dashboard systems, landed in that window. We phase builds so a live, useful screen exists early rather than everything arriving at the end: your team starts working in the first version while the automation and remaining data sources come online behind it.
Who maintains it after launch?
You own the system outright, no per-seat licences. We hand over documentation covering how it runs and what it costs to operate, and you choose whether to maintain it in-house or keep us on for changes as the operation grows.
